  • We went down to Eric’s office for the afternoon. We were suppose to meet him for lunch, but he wasn’t able to make it, so after we finished eating at our favorite Mexican restaurant we went over to the office. I had bought flowers to plant in the flower beds with the children. So we tore out the old flowers and planted the new ones. Eric kept poking his head out to check on us. I somehow managed to keep track of all the children and get them to help with the planting and it even looked pretty when we finished up.

We still had 2 hours before Eric was done, so we took off down to the river. We found a great place where everybody could play and I didn’t have to worry about any children being swept away in the current. Lots of rocks to make big splashes with and build just about anything. I didn’t even think about packing shorts or swimsuits, so they ended up swimming in their jeans (just the boys). It was a little cold because the sun kept disappearing behind the clouds, but I think after the initial shock of the cold water, they decided that it wasn’t too bad.

Hauling big rocks to make an island.

Rocks that came home with us.

When we were leaving the river, we heard a truck back off the road. So the boys quickly investigated what was going on. We found this…and I laughed and laughed. At first I thought the boy in the back was in a wheelchair! They quickly realized they were entraining all my children, so had some fun showing off!
